POMEROY INN AND SUITES INC. PARTNERS WITH OLD COLLEGE TO BUILD RURAL HOSPITALITY EDUCATIONAL FACILITY.
Pomeroy Inn & Suites Inc. is very pleased to announce our partnership with one of Alberta's premiere educational institutes, Olds College as they launch a new diverse educational platform designed to provide learning opportunities in Rural Alberta and to further their commitment to rural economic development. The Canadian Institute for Rural Entrepreneurship (CIRE) is a hands-on learning curriculum for credit based and continuing education students in Country Side Management. This program includes local food production, alternate land-use management, rural hospitality management, farm fresh food sales and tourism.
Pomeroy Inn Suites Inc. will contribute to the project by partnering with Olds College and with the consent of the Ministry of Advanced Education and Technology to build a four star Pomeroy Inn & Suites located on five acres of Olds College land south of Highway 27. The 12 to 14 Million dollar state of the art facility will encompass the brands already successful blue print of extended stay suites, full amenities and service culture plus it will also feature full food and beverage services including conference facilities and a restaurant. Perhaps the most unique design element will be the learning services built into the property. Students will be able to work and learn in the interactive design which will include teaching and observing areas. In addition to this, the Pomeroy Inn & Suites brand will play a significant role in the creation of curriculum for the rural hospitality management and tourism program.
This announcement is very exciting news for the brand as we continue to develop and build upon the strengths of our regional brand. We value educational opportunities that this facility will bring and look forward to further building our brand. This statement is fully echoed by our President Ryan Pomeroy, "As the premier provider for hospitality services in Northern Alberta, we greatly value the opportunity to partner with Olds College in such a meaningful way. This new facility in Central Alberta will bring numerous benefits to the community on many levels."
Construction on the facility is set to begin in the spring of 2011 with facilities fully operational by fall 2012.
